American award-winning actress, screenwriter, comedian, and director Ayo Edebiri has been unveiled as Chanel’s newest house ambassador. Best known for her standout performances in The Bear, Opus, and the newly released After the Hunt, Edebiri becomes the first Nigerian to hold this role. Her appointment also marks the first major celebrity collaboration under Chanel’s new creative director, Matthieu Blazy. Earlier this week, she attended the fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2026 show at the Grand Palais in Paris, where Blazy debuted his inaugural collection, a moment that signaled the beginning of a significant new chapter for both her and Chanel.
Speaking about the partnership with Matthieu, Edebiri shared, “Matthieu and I clicked right away. I love his vision, both sensitive and joyful. There is ease and elegance, yet a beautiful internal power. His looks give me confidence, but I still feel like myself. I am so happy to be embarking on this adventure with Matthieu and Chanel.”
Blazy also praised Edebiri’s artistry and presence: “Ayo is all strength, but at the same time, she is vulnerable enough to always put herself out there. She writes, she acts, she directs… Nothing can stop her. I admire her boldness, her beauty, her intellect, and her choice of artistic projects. She does it all while being incredibly kind and witty, with the warmest smile.”
This new partnership with Chanel hardly comes as a surprise, it feels well-earned. Edebiri and her stylist, Danielle Goldberg, have consistently turned heads on red carpets, landing on countless Best Dressed lists. With Edebiri’s distinct sense of style and creative flair, this collaboration with the global fashion house promises to be another standout chapter for both her and Chanel.
