The Rapper Discusses His Latest Endeavor, 'The Oath' on Sony Crackle
Although 50 Cent doesn't seem like the type to show fear, he has admitted that there's one thing that terrifies him: being a one-hit-wonder.
In an interview with Forbes' Brian J. Roberts, the rapper behind "Many Men" opened up about his successful television career.
“Producing a hit is not enough for me,” he said. "When I have one, I’m cringing to get the next one. While Power is successful on its own, I go work on The Oath for Sony Crackle just to have something else."
“It’s just that I need something else there — if not, I become a one-hit wonder. I'm scared of that," he admitted. He even curiously compared the TV industry to pimping, saying, "The only reason why a pimp wants more than one hoe is that one hoe is so close to no hoes — even in that world, bro, like he wants more around because you're left with nothing."
50 Cent produced Power, a highly successful six-season television series that expanded into its own universe after ending in 2020. He also has The Oath on Sony Crackle, which reportedly was the highest-rated show upon the platform's launch. Additionally, he's working on a television adaptation of 8 Mile.
