Every year, the British Fashion Council hosts one of the most significant events in the fashion industry calendar, celebrating the exceptional talent contributing to the UK fashion scene. Since 1989, the BFC has transformed the Royal Albert Hall into a hub of fashion excitement, drawing crowds eager to discover the year's winners.

After a triumphant 2022 that saw S.S.DALEY, Grace Wales Bonner, and Burberry emerge victorious at the Fashion Awards, anticipation is high for the 2023 edition, which promises to showcase a mix of established and emerging talent. This year's nominees reflect the best in British fashion, acknowledging those who are making a difference with purpose-driven collections and groundbreaking innovation. The awards are divided into four categories: Model of the Year, British Menswear Designer, British Womenswear Designer, New Establishment Menswear, and New Establishment Womenswear.

Over 1,000 industry experts will cast their votes to determine the winners, while the public will have the opportunity to choose the Model of the Year.

In the category of British Menswear Designer of the Year, Grace Wales Bonner's eponymous label faces stiff competition from the likes of Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov, Dior Men's Kim Jones, Martine Rose, and Steven Stokey-Daley. These designers have left an indelible mark on the international menswear landscape.

The British Womenswear Designer of the Year category features outstanding talents such as Erdem Moralıoğlu, Maximilian Davis for Ferragamo, Nensi Dojaka, ROKSANDA, and Simone Rocha. Each of them has championed the UK fashion scene through their creative expressions that transcend boundaries.

In a bid to recognize fresh designers reshaping the industry with dynamic business endeavors and innovative products, the BFC has introduced two new awards this year. The New Establishment Menswear category includes celebrated designers Bianca Saunders, Corteiz, LABRUM, Nicholas Daley, and Saul Nash. A win for Corteiz would signify its first major recognition, acknowledging its role in revitalizing the streetwear movement. Meanwhile, Chopova Lowena, Dilara Fındıkoğlu, KNWLS, ROBERT WUN, and Supriya Lele are nominated in the womenswear category.

The nominees for Model of the Year have demonstrated their fearlessness and presence on the world's top runways. Alton Mason, Anok Yai, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Liu Wen, Mona Tougaard, and Paloma Elsesser are the contenders.

The 2023 Fashion Awards will take place on December 4 at the Royal Albert Hall, where the winners will be revealed and celebrated.
