Afrobeats legend Wizkid and South African rising star Tyla have officially teamed up on a cross-continental single “Dynamite.”
Nigerian superstar Wizkid and South African sensation Tyla have finally released their long-anticipated collaboration, “Dynamite,” and it’s already generating serious buzz.
The track, a perfect blend of Afrobeats and Amapiano, headlines Tyla’s newly released mini-EP, WWP (We Wanna Party). The project also features songs like “Bliss”, “Is It”, and “Mr. Media.”
Tyla revealed that “Dynamite” was actually born as a freestyle in Wizkid’s hotel room back in 2022, long before her global breakout with “Water.” She rediscovered the demo while working on WWP and decided to finish it for the EP.
Since its release, the track has debuted at #1 on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists across South Africa, Kenya, and India, a testament to the song’s instant international impact. Fans are praising the track’s smooth, sultry energy and the chemistry between both artists.
This is the first official collaboration between Wizkid and Tyla, two of Africa’s most celebrated artists. The song has been hailed as a cultural bridge, bringing together West Africa’s Afrobeats energy and South Africa’s Amapiano sound.
“Dynamite” is already being tipped as a late contender for Song of the Summer and cements Tyla’s growing global dominance while reinforcing Wizkid’s influence as one of Afrobeats’ biggest stars.
