Award-winning artist and music producer, Tems is set to take the Leading Vibe initiative to Nairobi, Kenya, on September 29, 2025. After a successful edition in Lagos, where 20 emerging women creatives took part in songwriting and production sessions, other parts of Africa are also set to tap into all the amazing sessions and opportunities the initiative promises.

The Nairobi edition will engage female artists, songwriters, and producers aged 18–35. Participants will have access to different sessions including masterclasses and panel discussions led by industry leaders, sharpening their craft while building valuable connections.

The Lagos edition was powered by Native Instruments and Hennessy, with Tems hosting a welcome dinner to share her mission of expanding opportunities for women in music.

“At its core, the Leading Vibe Initiative is about creating space for young women to find their voice, step into their power, and shape the future of music,” she said. “In Africa and around the world, there are thousands of women with the drive and potential to make history.”

Reflecting on the Lagos gathering, she added, “When I started out, I had to teach myself everything, from production to navigating the music industry. Today, I’m fortunate to have a team that shares my vision, but I know my story isn’t unique. Many women have the same drive and talent but lack access to the right tools or networks. That’s why I started the Leading Vibe Initiative. Seeing the first group come together in Lagos, support one another, and grow through the experience reminded me exactly why this matters. We’re building pathways for women to lead, thrive, and take up space in the global music industry.”

With training that spans songwriting, live performance, music production, and the music business, a new crop of well-rounded female music creatives from Kenya is guaranteed to emerge — paving the way for new sounds and fresh artists who are not only exceptionally talented but are also equipped with the qualities needed to thrive on a global stage.
