Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Dave Chappelle's upcoming comedy special, "The Dreamer," ahead of its release on the streaming platform. The trailer, featuring a narration by Morgan Freeman, offers a sneak peek into the special and includes a special appearance by Freeman alongside Chappelle.

In the trailer, Freeman's voice prompts introspection, asking, "What do you dream about? Not the dreams you have in your sleep: the ones you hold in your heart. Don’t be intimidated by the audacity of your dream — be inspired by it. What happens to a dream deferred? Lucky for Dave, he doesn’t know."

This upcoming comedy special follows Chappelle's 2021 Netflix special, "The Closer," which sparked controversy due to jokes about transgender individuals, leading to company walkouts. Initially defended by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, he later admitted to having "screwed up" in the face of backlash. Filmed at the Lincoln Theatre in Chappelle's hometown of Washington, D.C., "The Dreamer" marks his seventh special with the streaming service.

"Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer" is set to premiere on Netflix on December 31. For a glimpse of the special, watch the trailer on Netflix.
